The Department of Human Kinetics initiated aerobics classes as part of its HK12 course curriculum in the 1990s. Recognizing the importance of extending their services beyond academic boundaries, in 2009, Dean AKR spearheaded a groundbreaking initiative: the introduction of “Community Aerobics.” This pioneering program welcomed individuals of all ages from the UPLB community, fostering a spirit of inclusivity and wellness.

Currently, the Community Aerobics sessions take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 pm, with an additional session on Saturdays at 6 am. These sessions, helmed by the dedicated guidance of Professor Naomi Dee Mendoza and Assistant Professor Myra Luzviminda Abueg,
provide a platform for community members to engage in physical activity and promote holistic well-being. Participants converge at the UPLB DL UMALI HALL or Bath House, where they embark on a journey towards fitness and vitality
