LAGOM is a collection of abstracts summarizing undergraduate theses, special problems, and works of art, from the seven degree-granting departments and institutes under the College of Arts and Sciences, University of the Philippines Los Baños. These include (a) Department of Humanities, (b) Department of Social Sciences, (c) Institute of Biological Sciences, (d) Institute of Chemistry, (e) Institute of Computer Science, (f) Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Physics, and (g) Institute of Statistics. It showcases a spectrum of topics from the fields of natural sciences, pure and applied mathematics, humanities, and social sciences. Each abstract represents a core result of student’s hard work, guided and guarded by their expert adviser. Furthermore, nearly all if not all the undergraduate theses, special problems, and works of art contained herein, have passed the scrutiny of an expert panel during their defense. The three-fold force from the serious mind of a student looking at the horizon for graduation, the guiding hands of expert adviser, and the strict barrier set by an expert panel, ensures that the abstracts contained herein are of solid quality.

For this reason, the abstracts that constitute LAGOM and their corresponding full manuscript available elsewhere, serve as concrete examples for other students to follow or grounds to stand on for further studies. Each sphere of knowledge that each work represents is subject to fragmentation and reconstitution, to be understood deeply or be used to formulate one’s own. Apart from this, these examples are shining spheres of ideas depicting jobs well done. LAGOM is an inspiration for the next in-line telling them that “if they can do it, you too can do it.”
