Students, faculty, and alumni of the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) initiated the celebration of the ICS week by banding together to do a clean-up of the hiking trails of Mt. Tagapo on January 26, 2013 at Talim Island in Binangonan, Rizal.
The ICS week is a week-long celebration that marks the foundation of the Institute of Computer Science on January 26, 1995.
The excursion began early morning at Los Baños’ docks where the participants rented out a boat to ferry them to the island. It was an hour and a half long trip across Laguna de Bay to the port of Janosa where the group started the trek to the mountain’s summit.
The participants reached the peak at around half past ten where snacks were served alongside picture-taking. After the short fellowship, garbage bags were distributed around and the group started on the clean-up trip from the peak along the hiking trail and down to the foot of the mountain. After the clean-up, the group had their lunch and made the trip back to Los Baños.
